The Long View

Andrew's guiding North Star is simple: help make South Africa the greatest place in the world to live, for everyone.

We believe that begins with children. Every Ubuntu journey directly funds local nonprofits creating long term change in Cape Town communities. No fundraising. No performative voluntourism. Just real connection and real impact.

A portion of every journey funds their work. You can choose to visit the organizations we support and witness it for yourself.

Why Children?

Because lasting change starts upstream. Education, mentorship, and belonging can completely alter the course of a life. As children gain access to opportunity, confidence grows. Curiosity grows. And with that comes a deeper respect for community, culture, and the natural world. This is how generational change happens.

This commitment did not start with Ubuntu Journeys read our story.

Where Impact Lives

Andrew’s journey from climbing Table Mountain daily for a year to founding Ubuntu Journeys has always centered on responsibility. Today, each journey supports community rooted education initiatives and contributes to the stewardship of the landscapes that make South Africa extraordinary.

Impact is not hidden in a PDF.

You experience it in person on our tours.

The Organizations We Support

One Heart for Kids - Improving literacy outcomes for children in underserved communities. Because if a child cannot read, education becomes almost impossible.

Amoyo Performing Arts Foundation - Structured after school programs, performing arts, mentorship, and community for children living in poverty. One of the most joyful places you will ever experience.

The Community Foundation - Mentorship, trauma healing, and family resilience for children and caregivers through long term community based care.

The Indaba Foundation - Early childhood development programs giving children the strongest possible start. Investing early is one of the most effective ways to build a healthier future for South Africa.

Here, regeneration is not symbolic.
It is structural.

Why This Matters

Apartheid officially ended more than 30 years ago but many communities are still living with the consequences. Waiting for systems to solve these problems is not enough. The good news is that remarkable people are already building solutions every single day. Our role is to support them, amplify them, and invite our guests into that story.

Somewhere among these children is a future leader, teacher, artist, or the next Nelson Mandela. We believe they deserve the opportunity to become it.
